The county has a total area of 2,373 square miles and a population of 13,833 people as of the 2018 census. The Converse County School District serves all public school students in Converse County. The district consists of fourteen elementary schools, five middle schools, four high schools and two alternative high schools. The major high schools in the district are Douglas High School located in Douglas, Glenrock High School located in Glenrock and Lingle-Ft Laramie High School located in Lingle-Ft Laramie. It provides students with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree program as well as several specialty fellowships, residencies, joint degree programs and research opportunities. In addition to the MD program, UWSOM also offers a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree program. The state also has several other educational institutions offering health sciences degrees such as nursing or physician assistant programs; these include Casper College’s Physician Assistant Program, Northwest College’s Nursing Program and Western Wyoming Community College’s Nursing Program among others.
