Korea
|
North Korea is about 120,538 km2, with a
population of 19,185,000 residents. It is a unitary
republic divided into nine provinces and two districts,
with capital in Pyongyang. It borders with China over
1300 km, and much of its territorial area is
mountainous. In agriculture, rice, corn and soy are
mainly cultivated; but the industry assumes greater
importance in the chemical, metallurgical, steel and
mechanical sectors, partly due to the abundance of ores,
such as iron, coal, zinc, lead and lignite. Foreign
trade is mainly practiced with China. The currency unit
is the new won. For North Korea democracy and rights, please check homeagerly. |
