We have previously shown up the relatively new American brand Ovadia & Sons here at our site. The brand that is now perhaps the most interesting US has to offer to clothes, started in 2010 by brothers Ariel and Shimon Ovadia in Brooklyn.
The journey has then gone in a furiously paced brothers who last year was nominated for Best New Menswear in America by GQ magazine. The brothers also had creative responsibility for the ultra conservative preppy mark J Press focus on a more modern interpretation of the firm’s clothing under the name J Press York Street. A re-launch, you could read about this at the our site.
Today we focus on Ovadia & Sons own brand and want by showing up goodies from their summer collection give you inspiration for a more well-dressed summer. What appeals to us with this particular brand is that they balance very well between design, craftsmanship and quality. Slightly simplified so would their clothes be described as European, but preppy boarding school influences. In the US there are several brands that are very good at just preppymodet but in many cases only an approved quality levels. When it comes to crafts and tailored silhouettes will instead most often seek to Italian firms. This fashion, however in some cases tend to be a bit too extravagant and elaborate. Ovadia & Sons deliver clothes with a classic yet updated the average firm in really good material and tailored fit. A result we like and love to follow for years to come when the brothers must prove that they are here to stay.
The company has now expanded and in addition in NY and hip Tokyo Shops found with Frans Boone in Holland and in the well-stocked online stores such as Mr. Porter and Carson Street Clothiers.
